Our tour departs on the Monday from the city of Vicenza in Northern Italy, 40 miutes by train from Venice and 2 hours from Milan. We will meet at 2:30 pm in the lobby of the hotel where we later stay (to be confirmed by direct email to each guest). The hotel where we meet is a 15 minute walk from the station. From the meeting place our coach will take us to our first night’s farm stay accommodation about 40 minutes away in Piombino Dese.

The tour also ends in Vicenza where we spend the last 2 nights. Refer to the itinerary for details on where we spend each night and daily activities.

By Train

Vicenza is on the main train line from Milan to Venice, 40 minutes from Venice and 2 hours from Milan. It is well serviced by fast trains “Frecce” and Intercity trains as well as regional trains. As the tours start in the afternoon of the Monday there is enough time to travel by  train from major cities such as Milan, Venice, Bologna and Florence on the same day. If you are travelling by train from further afield it may be wise to arrive the night before or stay in a nearer town such as Venice, Padua or Verona the day before.

Venice – Vicenza is about 40 minutes and €10 to €15.

Milano Centrale – Vicenza  1 hr 50min and €15 to €30.

By Air

The nearest major airport is Venice Marco Polo International Airport. From the airport it is a short coach or taxi ride to Venezia Mestre station (mainland station nearest Venice) where you can get a train direct to Vicenza – see above.

Milan, about 2 hours by train from Vicenza, is the busiest transport interchange in Northern Italy with 2 international airports and 3 major stations. Flying in to Milan Malpensa or Milan Linate airports are also possibilities. From Malpensa take the train or coach to Milano Centrale where you can get a Freccia train direct to Vicenza as above. Linate airport is a little closer to Milano Centrale and the quickest way is by taxi –  about €40. Then take the train to Vicenza.

By Car

Vicenza is very easily accessible by car, only half an hour from Verona on the E70 autostrada. Verona is on the intersection of the two main autostrade through Italy East/West and North/South. If you are travelling in a rented car, Vicenza is well served with all the major companies having offices quite near the station and only a short walk from the hotel meeting place.
